Eric & Lindsay Stevens Koehn Reception

The tables were set up to leave a space in the center of the room for dancing, & other traditions such as throwing the flower bouquet to the eligible single women & the garter to the single men, to see who is supposedly next in line to get married.

Everyone mingling & enjoying the refreshments. Purple and Green were the wedding colors. Lindsay even had an amethyst set in her pretty engagement/wedding ring.

On Oct. 11th, Eric & Lindsay Stevens Koehn were married in the Columbia River Washington Temple. Eric (previously a Mennonite) was baptized  about 2 1/2 years ago and became a member of our Basin City LDS 2nd ward, when Jay was still Bishop.  Eric & Lindsay live just down the road from us. They are both older and have searched for a companion for many, many years. They first met two years ago through the LDS single adult program, but didn't actually start dating until after they watched conference together at a friend's home, last April. Everyone was extremely thrilled when they heard about their engagement! Eric is a school bus driver in the North Franklin school district & also works for Sage Hill Northwest. Lindsay works as a caregiver for disabled young adults through Tri-Cities Residential Services & she sometimes works as a driver for Dial-A-Ride. We are so very happy for them!

Sept. 13-Beardsley Wedding Reception

That evening there was a beautiful full moon rising over the Wasatch Mountains.
                       Seth Ellsworth and Janica Wood
Good friends & a couple of past roommates of the groom from left to right: Wendy Holland, Stewart Campbell (roommate) & Bubba (roommate), Alex (Miranda's boyfriend), Miranda Buell, Janica Wood, & Seth Ellsworth (Janica's boyfriend). Wendy, Miranda, & Janica are presently roommates.
A chef made fresh crepes and various toppings were there to put on them. There was a table for a choice of beverage selections &  also a table with a sack to put in their favorite candies & treats.
The guest tables and main food items table were set up under the tent. The colors were deep plum & a moss green. Lights & colored Chinese lanterns were used inside the tent.
The Bridal portrait and wedding cake display which has already been cut.

Congratulations to Brett and Ashley Beardsley! Janica was good friends with Brett & his roommates, when she lived at Centennial Apts. in Provo. Brett came and stayed at our home in WA, when Rachel Empey Cutler married Brady. Their reception was beautifully landscaped & decorated at Ashley's home in Draper, Utah.

Sept. 13-Texas BBQ to Celebrate Bill & Sue Bates' Wedding

I couldn't resist posting this picture of Janica holding smiling, baby Jayce (3 mos.)
Second Cousins, Michael Wood & Calee Tomlinson, (Sue's great nephew & niece) having a fun time together, while the adults visit. (Sorry about the blurriness)
Michael Wood (my grandson & Sue's great nephew) happily playing on the grass.
We brought Sherri & Calee Tomlinson (nieces of Sue & I) with us. As you can see the sun was shining bright in everyone's eyes for most of the pictures.
Sue's youngest son, Kevin Weisenberger (on the right) & his friend.
Bill & Suesan Bates, & Sue's good friend Trelma Hale & Shirley Coffey (a good friend of our mother, Eva, & step-father, Dean Thurman, from years ago in Wapello, Idaho.) It was so good to see her. I think it had been 25 + years since I saw her last.
Janece & J. Wood,  Suesan & Bill Bates
In this picture on the left side is Brandon, Jayce (with his fist in the air), Michael, & Veronica Wood, Calee & Sherri Tomlinson. On the right side, we have Seth Ellsworth (Janica's boyfriend), Janica & J. Wood, Suesan Bates & Carolyn Walters (Sue's adopted daughter on the very end)

My sister, Maudie (Suesan) England married Bill Bates on July 16, 2008, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, overlooking the beautiful Snake River. Bill had lived in Texas for quite some time in his younger years and thought it would be fun to have a Texas BBQ prepared by his brother, from Oklahoma, to celebrate their wedding. It was held at the LDS church near their home in Magna, Utah. We enjoyed beef brisket, baked beans, cowboy beans, potato salad, strawberry fruit salad, lemonade, & of course wedding cake. A BIG CONGRATULAIONS TO THEM & BEST WISHES FOR A VERY HAPPY LIFE TOGETHER!

Caleb & Rebecca Lee Gorden Reception

On our way back from Seattle on Sept. 6th, we stopped in Connell and attended Becca & Caleb's reception, which was beautifully decorated in pink and brown.

Becca was very beautiful in her wedding gown & Caleb was very handsome in his tuxedo. We signed their guestbook which consisted of pictures from their courtship with blank pages next to each one for the guests to sign & leave comments. This is the first time I've seen this at a reception. We enjoyed a lovely dessert of swirled cheesecake and watched a video slide presentation of the newlyweds with pictures as they were growing up, & dating. Our daughter, Coriann, (a good friend of Becca's) was present in many of the pictures. We enjoyed visiting and I spent most of my time talking with Coach Colby & his wife, Virginia, about basketball. They plan to get the girl's team to Portland, to support Coriann in Nov. when BYU plays Portland State. We also enjoyed visiting with Caleb's mother who had so much fun at our Mercantile store, buying fresh produce & other items that she can't get in Arkansas, where she lives.
