NOV. 26, 2008- A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JANICA & MICHAEL!

This is what was drawn on the paper tablecloth when we were having dinner with the family at the Macaroni Grill. We missed not having Nate with us, since he wouldn't arrive until the next morning.
Aunt Veronica is getting Krew to smile while sitting on Grandpa Wood's lap. Clint Tomlinson is a cousin to Krew & nephew of Jay & I through marriage to our niece, Sherri.
1st Cousins- 8 mos. old Krew Jones & 5 1/2 mos. old Jayce Wood
2nd Cousins- 4 yr. old Calee Tomlinson & 2 3/4 yr. old Kali Jones.
Michael having fun with all the birthday balloons. His big one was Elmo & Janica's was the Disney princesses.
                               Time for cake & icecream!
Janica likes her new clothes & coat, warm fuzzy blanket, Mary Kay supplies, a computer portable hard drive, a 'reach for the stars' picture wall hanging, an exercise ball & also a big Greg Olsen Savior & child tapestry.
Michael loves Elmo & his book, & he really had fun with his Fisher Price trucks & road playset, too. He also got some new clothes & a few other little toys.
Veronica is helping Michael open his presents. In this picture, we also have Clint, Sherri & Calee Tomlinson, Madisen Pearce,  & Shanae & Kali Jones.
Michael wants to help Janica blow out the candles on her cake, too.
Here's two yr. old Michael & his cake with Pooh & Tigger candles to blow out.
Here we have most of the family celebrating Janica & Michael's special day by eating at the Macaroni Grill in Provo. After eating our dinner, the waiters came to sing & give icecream & mini cakes with a candle to the two birthday kids. We all got a taste & it was very yummy!
The following family members were with Janica in the temple-from left in back are Marci & Aaron Layton, Adam & Scott Ellsworth, Brandon Wood, Seth Ellsworth, Aaron Jones & Jay Wood. In front: Annalisa Ellsworth, Veronica & Janica Wood, Shanae Jones, & Janece Wood.
Janica was able to go through the Provo, Utah temple today for her endowments on her 23rd birthday. Here is Seth Ellsworth(her fiance-soon to be husband) standing beside her.

Shanae & Kali Jones singing some songs in Hawaiian, after the birthday party for Janica & Michael.  Janica, Coriann & Krew can also be seen in the video.

BYU Women's Basketball Vs. U. of Oregon- Nov. 21 & #1 UCONN- Nov. 25. Ashley Pearce's Play- Nov. 24, 2008.

Ashley posing for us with her flowers after the play is over. Jay & I were really impressed with how well everyone did in the preformance! Of course Ashley was the star of the play to us.
Here is Ashley seated in the center amongst the cast from the play.
A cute picture of Ashley kissing the Jester on the cheek.
My great niece, Ashley Pearce starred in her high school play, "Once Upon A Mattress" (a take off from the story of the "Princess & The Pea"). Here she's showing off her dancing skills center stage, as a fair maiden in the yellow dress with pink top.  Jay & I attended this play for our FHE at the Orem High School auditorium.
Our 2nd grandchild & oldest grandson, Michael Jason Wood-age 2 tomorrow, with Auntie Cori.
Our oldest grandchild, Kali Lyn Jones-age 2 3/4 yrs. with her basketball star Auntie Tori (Cori).

Our cute youngest little Cougar grandsons, Krew Ross Jones-8 mos. & Jayce Dillon Wood-5 mos.

Coriann defending #41 as the shot goes up.

Coriann #23 looking for a good pass as she is guarded by Maya Moore #23. BYU put up a pretty good fight with UCONN in the first half, but UC played with 40 min. of intensity & were so much more skilled & smooth players that we just couldn't keep up with them. Coriann played 18 min. & had 9 points & 4 rebounds, with 4-4 free throw shooting.
On Nov. 25th, #1 ranked UCONN came to play BYU. Here we have Coriann dribbling & being defended by Kalana Greene #32. We had a crowd of over 3100, which is really good for BYU women's games. We were able to have all of our children there, except Nate, & we were able to have our four grandchildren, plus the faithful Tomlinson's, & some great friends such as the Ben & Michele Casper family from our Basin City, WA home, & Milt & Renae Deleeuw from the Orem Cascade 6th ward. I think Janica & Coriann's roommate's, Miranda & Wendy & previous roommate, Jen, & a few of their other friends were also there.
Here we have all five BYU women playing great defense.

Our faithful little BYU cheerleader, Calee Tomlinson!

Coriann made (2 of 4) 3-point shots in this game & had 2 assists.

Coriann ready to grab the rebound while playing W. Oregon (in the Marriott Center-Nov. 21), who we beat 67-45. She was able to pull down 4 boards.

This video clip shows Coriann making a layup

Basketball Trip to Nevada-Reno- Nov. 17-19, 2008

Nevada's Marissa Hammond & Marianne Lombardi after the game was over. It was fun to talk with them a little bit, since I had spent 3 yrs. chaperoning & following them around to tournaments, when Coriann was on the team with them.
Coriann is in the center of this pic. & Marissa #30 with the white headband, is on the left. Marianne Lombardi #32 on the right, also played on 'Sagebrush Hoops' with Coriann & Marissa. The team was from the Tri-Cities in WA & was coached by Mike Hodgins. BYU played very well & we beat Nevada 81-63. In 14 min. time, Coriann had 100% shooting overall with 11 points, 5 rebounds & an assist.  Two 3-point shots, were included in the mix. A great game for Coriann!
Jay & I left on Nov. 17th to make the long drive to Reno, Nevada from our home in WA. This pic. above shows Coriann guarding Marissa Hammond #30, who she used to play on the 'Sagebrush Hoops' elite team with, for three years.

Basketball Trip to Portland- Nov. 14-15, 2008

The beautiful fall colors on the banks of the Columbia.
Crossing the 'Bridge of the Gods' over the Columbia River near Troutdale.
This one is of Multnomah Falls. It's quite a tourist attraction.
As Jay & I were driving home the next day, Nov. 15th, I took some scenery shots. Here is one with Mt. Hood in the background.
Our neighbors back in Basin City also drove the four plus hours to come and support Coriann in her game. Pictured are Coriann, Sharee & Hyrum Jones.
Coriann's Connell high school coaches came to support her. (pic.-Paul Garland, David (Dewey) Dixon, Coriann Wood, & Dan Colby).
Here is Coriann in her first real season game at Portland State, on Fri. Nov. 14th.  It was a game that we shouldn't have lost. The score was 64-73. It was so sad at the last seconds of the game, Haley Hall, our best point guard, tore her ACL on her left knee. She has already been out two seasons because of tearing it on her right knee twice. She had played such a great game. Everyone was so distraught about her being out for another season.

Our First Week Of The Basketball Season In Utah With The Family- Nov. 3-10, 2008

I failed to insert these pictures of Coriann starting in the exhibition game with BYU vs. Dixie college on Nov. 8th. It was in the evening  after the football game with SDS below. Coriann
scored 11 points & had 4 rebounds, an assist & steal & she was 6-6 from the free throw line. She made a 3-point shot, but I'm not sure if the pic. above is the one she made.
A really cute picture of Calee Tomlinson (my great-niece & Coriann's cousin) age four, who was also there with her mother, Sherri, to help celebrate.
A nice family picture of Jayce, Veronica, Brandon, & Michael Wood as they came to celebrate.
Coriann's gifts unveiled. An America's team poster from several years back with (Jordan, Payton, Stockton, Bird, etc.) Michael is checking it out. A special sister collage from Janica, a basketball lamp, some clothes & other fun stuff. Calee & Sherri Tomlinson, Seth Ellsworth & Janica in the background.
And now for all the fun presents. My niece, Sherri Tomlinson is in the background.
We had a family birthday party for Coriann, on Nov. 9th (her real birthday is the 11th). She's now a BIG 20, no longer a teenager. She always likes the party rainbow chip cake with matching frosting.
We got to see Spencer Hadley #50, from home, again as he's preparing for the game. He's been getting to see more time on the field.
BYU warming up for the game.
Jay (right corner) & I headed to the BYU vs. SDS football game on Nov. 8th at the LaVell Edwards stadium. I always love to see the huge mountains in the background...such a great backdrop!
Jay & I attended the Provo temple on Nov. 7th- a crisp fall morning. We always find great peace & solace at the temple & we're able to meditate & concentrate on what our priorities should be. We come away with a greater resolve to be more loving & kind & we treat one another better. We also seem to have more patience & tolerance with everyone & are able to have the guidance of the Spirit more prevalent in our everyday lives as we attend each week. What a wonderful blessing! That evening Jay & I went to the new CineMark theater to see "Madagascar II". We were greatly entertained.
Here's Veronica & Michael meeting Cosmo, the Cougar (BYU mascot). We're #1! Sorry Michael is a bit dozy in this pic.
It was great fun to see our little grandson's at the game. Here is Jayce laughing away at Grandpa Wood.
Nov. 5th, after starting to help Janica on her wedding announcements, we attended Coriann's 1st exhibition game for the season of basketball, BYU vs. W. Oregon. We won 79-51. In this pic., they are all over Coriann #23, but she's hanging on tough.
We arrived late in the evening in Orem, & we were greeted by snow the next morning, Nov. 4th.

Before Jay & I left for Orem, UT on Nov. 3rd to stay at my brother, Bob Moody's home for the next week, I took a fall picutre in our backyard of Basin City, of our King Crimson Maple tree losing it's leaves.
